George Fox personally selects each diamond for maximum brilliance, color, and cut, while looking for exceptional value.
Carat
A diamond’s weight is measured in carats, where one carat equals 100 points. So 50 points equals ½ carat and 75 points equals ¾ carat. Larger diamonds are more rare and therefore, more valuable.
Clarity
Clarity measures “inclusions,” or natural identifying characteristics such as minerals or small fractures within the diamond. They look like tiny crystals, clouds, feathers or cracks. Larger inclusions lessen a diamond’s sparkle by limiting the passage of light. Any inclusions in diamonds from Fox Fine Jewelry can not be seen without magnification.*
Color
Diamonds range from the rare colorless (“D”) to light yellow (“Z”), and the higher the color, the more valuable. All Fox Fine Jewelry diamonds are near colorless.*
Colored diamonds are called “fancy diamonds” and come in many colors, including yellow, cognac, blue, black and many more. Ask to see our selection!
Cut
Cut refers to the diamond’s shape, such as round or square. But also the quality of the cut is very important. A Master Cutter carefully arranges the diamond facets to exact proportions, and gives it a high polish that releases a diamond’s brilliance. Diamonds are often cut poorly to achieve a larger stone, but these diamonds look dull and lack sparkle. George Fox meticulously inspects every diamond we sell, looking for superior cuts and sparkle.
